A Way of Looking at Things

This experimental editorial design is based on the text A Way of Looking at Things, by acclaimed architect Peter Zumthor, fulfilling the brief to engage a new audience in Zumthor’s architecture by reinterpreting the traditional form of ‘reading’ by exploring the typographic hierarchy associated with editorial design, and creating a visual narrative in relation to the designed content. I designed the book to reflect Zumthor's iconic architectural works, as well as his insightful writing on the subjects of architecture, materiality, memory, and the interplay between buildings and those who interact with them, providing readers with a unique visual experience that brings his text to life through editorial design.
