Bonsai buddies

Bonsai buddies was created in response to the Royal Society of Arts Student Design Awards competition, answering the Made Natrual brief, that asks how trees can be used to improve an issue in society or the environment.

Bonsai buddies is an accessible community bonsai nursery for older people to engage in nature-based ecotherapy, increasing wellbeing, reducing dementia risk, and reducing loneliness by facilitating meaningful connections with like-minded people. Buddies receive their own bonsai journey journal that uses bonsai as a metaphor for the self, creating a therapeutic connection to nature, and improving wellbeing.
