Connecting Homes for Health

This animation was created for National Energy Action, advertising their Connecting Homes for Health scheme. The project aims to raise funds for the installation of efficient central heating systems in the homes of vulnerable individuals in fuel poverty, and is based on text provided with the brief about the story of veteran Gary and his pet dog.

I chose to create the animation from the point of view of Gary's dog, who narrates the story of his life with his beloved owner Gary, and how their lives were changed by the Conecting Homes for Health scheme. This could help generate funding for the scheme, based on my research into the identifiable victim effect, which states that people are more likely to donate money when a victim is idetifiable, as well as based on findings that showing vulnerable subjects like animals can also increase one's willingness to donate. Telling the story from the point of view of Gary's dog also creates an unusual and interesting viewpoint which could help engage viewers.
