Waterlooville Town Centre Masterplan

The Waterlooville Town Centre Masterplan was commissioned by Havant Borough Council, and acts as a framework to promote and attract regeneration, development, and investment in the town centre. The Masterplan was previously supplied in a format unsuitable for distribution, in terms of file format, appearance, and accessibility; a challenge as its intended release date was fast approaching.

My role, therefore, was to take the existing content and brand identity for Waterlooville and, within a short timeframe, create a digital document suitable for its target audience of Waterlooville residents, business owners, and other key stakeholders.

To achieve this, I used the existing geometric shapes of the brand identity to create modular design that could be varied across the different document pages and sections, and serve as the basis for chapter and section titles, as well as pagination. Additionally, I used charts to display information in a way that was both easy to understand, and visually appealing, and visually broke up the text using graphic elements and tables, for a more digestible and appealing read.

The result was a more professional, understandable, accessible, and visually attractive document, which the council was proud to release to its audience.
